Throughout September and October DC Accounting will be taking up the challenge of 10,000 Steps to encourage healthy bodies, healthy minds and become a more active workplace.
With continual advances in technology and our workplaces becoming more sedentary it now takes a concerted effort to make active choices. So throughout the challenge the staff at DC Accounting will all be aiming for 10,000 steps every day.
10,000 steps is the recommended daily step goal for an active healthy adult.
The below is a good guide to determine how active you are

Getting more steps into your day can be as simple as walking to talk to a colleague instead of sending an email, parking the car further from the entrance to the shops or even taking an early morning walk to pick up the milk and the newspaper.
Physical activity has many positive effects which can include boosting energy levels, improving moods, reducing stress and even improve sleep. Joining in the challenge is easy, just pick up a pedometer from your local sporting goods store and then jump on line to register at http://www.10000steps.org.au/
So why not join us in taking part in the 10,000 Steps Challenge and enjoy the benefits of healthy minds and healthy bodies.

As the 2012 financial year begins we would like to notify you of an important change that has occurred at DC Accounting.
The Highfields office lease has expired and as a result, our tenancy has come to an end. This coupled with a lack of appropriate office space available in the Highfields area means that regrettably our Highfields office has closed permanently from 1 July 2011.
We would like to assure you the service to our Highfields clients will continue to be of the highest standard and in line with the DC Accounting motto of "going beyond". We look forward to providing your future tax and accounting services from our Toowoomba office.
We do not see the closing of the Highfields office affecting our working relationship as we are only a phone call away.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your customs over the past 6 years of which our Highfields office has been opened. We trust that the service we have provided in the past has been more than satisfactory to ensure that you will remain on as one of our valued clients.

On 7 November 2010 Shane Wilson and Steve Beckett of our office participated in the Wilson HTM Brisbane to the Gold Coast 100km Cycle Challenge.
As part of the Dash for Ash team they were able to raise an impressive total of $8,862.35. The much needed funds were donated to Diabetes Australia Queensland and the Heart Foundation.
Thank you to all those who donated and helped to support our riders.

Once again the DC Accounting staff participated in the firm's workplace giving scheme raising much needed funds for their chosen organization. For the 2010 financial year the staff raised a very impressive $1,668.00 for the Royal Brisbane Women's Hospital Foundation.
For the 2011 financial year our workplace giving charity will be Young Care. For more information on this organization please visit www.youngcare.com.au
